Quiet Identity & product system

One mesh. Three stops. Always in that order.

Quiet is a twelve-week tinnitus habituation programme in Copenhagen. The soft gradient is the right register for it and the wrong thing to leave to taste, so the mesh is a recipe: three named stops, in a fixed order, on every surface. Nothing is blurred that carries information, and nothing carries information that is blurred.

A disc and the word

The disc is the mesh cropped to a circle. It is the only place the gradient appears at small size, and it is why the mark reads as this brand rather than any other soft one.

The mark, and the three cuts it is allowed

The disc
Always the full mesh, never a slice of it. A crop that misses a stop is a different mark.
In print
The disc becomes flat #2B2F8C. A gradient that has to survive a photocopied clinic handout will not, so it is not asked to.
Spacing
The gap between disc and word is a quarter of the disc. Fixed, so nobody optically adjusts it into a different lockup.
Never
Never a soundwave, never an ear, never a ripple. The audience has heard a ringing noise for years and does not need it drawn.
02

Show the stops

The mesh looks like it has any number of colours in it. It has three, in one order, and the reveal is here so that anybody adding a surface can check theirs against it.

The recipe

Order1 → 2 → 3
Angle158°
Highlights2, both stop 2 or 3

Every mesh on every surface is this. A fourth hue is not a variation, it is a different brand.

Fixed order
Deep to light, always. Reversed, the surface reads as a different product, which is what happens when a team builds one screen without the recipe.
Two highlights
Radial, both drawn from stop 2 or stop 3, never from a new colour. They are what makes it a mesh rather than a ramp.
Where it goes
Behind the mark, on the hero, on one card in a set. Never behind a form, a table or a list of clinic times.
03

Blur carries no information

The prohibition that keeps this style usable. Anything blurred must be removable without losing a fact, which means the blur is always behind and never between.

Week 4 of 12
CorrectType on a scrim over the mesh. The scrim is fixed at 42% and is part of the recipe, not a per-screen judgement.
Week 4 of 12
Also correctAnything the patient has to act on sits on flat white. The programme schedule never appears on a gradient.
Week 4 of 12
RefusedNo scrim. It measures under 3:1 against the light end of the mesh, and the person reading it has come to a clinic, not a launch.

The three cases, decided once

04

The triad, and the greys that hold it

Three stops and a cool neutral. The neutral is slightly blue so that white cards next to the mesh do not look yellow, which is the small thing that makes the palette settle.

Stop 1 · deep#2B2F8CThe dark end. Also the one-colour print mark and every link.
Stop 2 · mid#6E5BD0The middle of every ramp and one of the two highlights.
Stop 3 · light#4FC4D6The light end. Never carries type, in any theme, at any size.
Ground#F7F7FBCool white. Everything factual happens here.

Typography

One geometric sans, set generously. The mono is only for durations and dates, because a patient counting weeks should be able to find the number without reading the sentence.

Habituation does not make the sound quieter. It changes what your attention does with it, and for most people that takes between eight and sixteen weeks.

Voice

The patient has usually been told there is nothing to be done. Overclaiming is the fastest way to lose them, so the copy states what the programme does and what it does not.

Say

It does not make the sound quieter.

The limitation first. Everything after it is more believable for it being there.
Not

Find your silence again.

Promises the one thing the programme cannot do.
Say

Eight to sixteen weeks for most people. Some see no change.

A range and an honest failure rate, which is what a clinician would say.
Not

A revolutionary breakthrough in tinnitus care.

Sounds like a supplement advert, and this audience has read a hundred of those.
08

What breaks it

This is the most-copied look on the internet and the least defended. Four ways it goes, and the last is the one that makes it indistinguishable from everything else.

Quiet
A fourth hue A pink is added for a campaign, then a green. The mesh stops being one recipe and becomes a technique, and two screens built a month apart no longer look related.
Week 4 of 12
Type on the mesh, no scrim It measures 2.1 to 1 against the light end. The patient is often older and often reading in a waiting room, and this is where the style stops being merely fashionable and starts excluding people.
Glass on glass on glass Every panel becomes frosted, so nothing is in front of anything. Depth needs something opaque to be in front of; three blurred layers is a fog with a hierarchy problem.
The default triad The last one. Violet to cyan is the gradient every software company shipped between 2021 and now. Ours is close enough that the only thing keeping it ours is that it is written down and never drifts.

Quiet is invented, built as a portfolio exercise in the gradient-mesh look. Copenhagen and tinnitus habituation therapy are real; this programme, its clinic, staff and figures are not, and nothing here is medical advice or a description of a real treatment. The visual language is after the software-company default of about 2021 onward. Those teams are credited as influences only. Part of the One Rule Each series.

Rule

Three stops, in one order, in every gradient. Blur carries no information: anything blurred can be removed without losing a fact.
